Ventures

Ventures Pradeep has founded or helped build since 2011. Three are active; three were shut down or stalled.

ActiveJan 2026 – present

Effimal

Co-Founder & CEO

B2B decision intelligence platform for supply chain planning. It uses AI agents and agentic workflows to take pre-emptive action and give end-to-end visibility across operational and strategic planning.

Current venture.

Active2016 – present

Bestinhere

Founder

A social network for trusted local recommendations: location-tagged photo stories and travelogues shared through a network of friends. The first version, built on responsive web and Android by a team of three, met weak early feedback as users were still moving from 2G to 3G. That experience showed the problem was still unresolved, and the team is taking it on again. The business-side learnings from eattt will be used in Bestinhere Business.

New version, built for current needs, is live at bestinhere.com.

ActiveSep 2019 – Mar 2022

Samai

Chief Technology Officer

General-purpose business workflow platform with case processing and critical communication, configurable per service. First market: tax representatives in India.

The tax preparer platform continues to grow and generate revenue.

PausedOct 2018 – Aug 2019

Nexi

Co-Founder & CTO

Cab sharing for daily commuters with lower fares and better driver economics than Uber or Ola. A team of three built the routing, scheduling and matching platform, a driver app and a customer app.

Operations stalled due to Covid.

Wound down2013

eattt

Founder

Enhancing dining experiences: diners ordered from their phones through the eattt mobile app, and restaurants ran service on a cloud POS. Built on React, Material-UI, Django and Python.

Sold to several restaurants in Hyderabad; shut down as customer acquisition cost was too high to scale. Its business-side learnings carry into Bestinhere Business.

Wound down2011

Education startup

Founder

First venture, in the education sector, started while at IIT Bombay.

Shut down due to a chicken-and-egg problem.

Lessons

Lessons from one venture carry into the next. The early consumer ventures were ahead of market readiness: restaurant technology was not ready for eattt, and the first Bestinhere launched while its users were still moving from 2G to 3G. The B2B work that followed, at Exponential Machines, Ormae and now Effimal, built on those lessons.

The problem Bestinhere set out to solve remains open, and a new version is now live. The business-side learnings from eattt, selling to restaurants and the cost of acquiring them, will be used in Bestinhere Business.
